The purpose of Yakima Basin Velo is to encourage bicycle riding to promote a healthy life style throughout our region, provide recreational opportunities and demonstrating cycling as a practical means of transportation. This objective will be accomplished by:
- providing bicycle safety education programs, coaching/mentoring of local youth and other resources for the community;
- conducting an array of rides that reflect the diverse cycling interests among the membership as well as other bicycle and social events;
- providing services to the Club membership that is delivered with an emphasis on consistency, inclusion and collaboration;
- forging partnerships with local private sector entities to facilitate the vibrancy of the club by reaching out to all segments of the community;
- advocating increased support for cycling among the public, government agencies and elected officials.

Holiday Party

Location: Robertson Room of the Capital Theatre, 19 S. 3rd Street, Yakima
Time: 6:00 to 9:00 PM
We are set for our Holiday Gathering at the Robertson Room, downstairs of the Capital Theatre. This is a potluck format, same as last year, we will have an event liquor license, so bring a beverage of your choice. The club will supply juices and soft drinks. The infamous White Elephant gift exchange and the ruthlessness that accompanies it will take place place once again. If you are interested in participating bring a gift, $20.00 maximum. If you want to help set up plan to be there at 5:00 PM. We will also be introducing new officers, and discussing plans for 2017. See you there!!
