The purpose of Yakima Basin Velo is to encourage bicycle riding to promote a healthy life style throughout our region, provide recreational opportunities and demonstrating cycling as a practical means of transportation. This objective will be accomplished by:
- providing bicycle safety education programs, coaching/mentoring of local youth and other resources for the community;
- conducting an array of rides that reflect the diverse cycling interests among the membership as well as other bicycle and social events;
- providing services to the Club membership that is delivered with an emphasis on consistency, inclusion and collaboration;
- forging partnerships with local private sector entities to facilitate the vibrancy of the club by reaching out to all segments of the community;
- advocating increased support for cycling among the public, government agencies and elected officials.

Silver Dollar SR 241 Loop Ride

Ride Distance: ~85 miles
Ride Pace: Brisk, ~17MPH
Route: Check out Silver Dollar Loop
Route will take you out highway 24 to the Silver Dollar and south on SR 241, back via Konnowoc Pass with a brief stop in Zillah to re-hydrate and/or grab some food.This is a ride for experienced riders. The expectation is that riders can keep the pace of the ride leader and be self sufficient. There will not be a SAG for this ride, riders must be comfortable with the pace or riding on their own. Great training for STP!
