The purpose of Yakima Basin Velo is to encourage bicycle riding to promote a healthy life style throughout our region, provide recreational opportunities and demonstrating cycling as a practical means of transportation. This objective will be accomplished by:
- providing bicycle safety education programs, coaching/mentoring of local youth and other resources for the community;
- conducting an array of rides that reflect the diverse cycling interests among the membership as well as other bicycle and social events;
- providing services to the Club membership that is delivered with an emphasis on consistency, inclusion and collaboration;
- forging partnerships with local private sector entities to facilitate the vibrancy of the club by reaching out to all segments of the community;
- advocating increased support for cycling among the public, government agencies and elected officials.

Ride Time: Meet at the Yakima Fred Meyer parking lot near the fueling stations at 7:00 AM to carpool to the Ranger Station pull out across from the Hause Creek Campground. Be ready to ride by 7:45.
Ride Distance: 33 miles out and back
Ride Pace: Tita's Pace
Route: Check it out at Tieton Reservoir/Rimrock out and back
This is a great ride to get out of the heat and into the cooler weather in the mountains.

Little Naches Ride

Ride Start Location: Whistlin Jacks Lodge
Distance: 36 miles round trip
Route: Little Naches
Start Time: Meet at the Yakima Fred Meyer at 7:30 AM to carpool to Whistlin Jacks. Should be on the road by 8:15 AM
Pace: Pace will vary, ride leader will lead from the back
Terrain: Slight up hill gradient out with a minor climb in the last 3 miles
A good day to get out of the valley and into the mountains. Ride will leave Whistlin Jacks and head up 410 turning right on the Little Naches road and out to the end of the pavement and back. Plan is to stop at Bron Yr Aur on the return trip for pizza and a beverage. Pizza is on the club!
