Yakima Cycling Club // Yakima Basin Velo

The purpose of Yakima Basin Velo is to encourage bicycle riding to promote a healthy life style throughout our region, provide recreational opportunities and demonstrating cycling as a practical means of transportation. This objective will be accomplished by:

1. providing bicycle safety education programs, coaching/mentoring of local youth and other resources for the community;
2. conducting  an array of rides that reflect the diverse cycling interests among the membership as well as other bicycle and social events;
3. providing services to the Club membership that is delivered with an emphasis on consistency, inclusion and collaboration;
4. forging partnerships with local private sector entities to  facilitate the vibrancy of the club by reaching out to all segments of the community;
5. advocating increased support for cycling among the public, government agencies and elected officials.
